Pedagogical Innovation, OSCE in action at CEERRF

Under the leadership of M. Arnaud CERIOLI, CEERRF is pioneering new approaches to competency assessment by integrating Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE) into several teaching units. These include courses focused on evaluations, intervention techniques and tools across the three core competency areas, as well as specialized physiotherapy interventions.

This initiative is part of CEERRF’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of education through active learning and authentic competency assessment.

Innovation Pédagogique, L’ECOS en action au sein du CEERRF

In collaboration with the Catholic University of Valencia (UCV) and Dr. Miryam Garcia Escudero, and within the framework of the Erasmus+program, CEERRF has launched an innovative training program for its teaching staff.

This project, centered on pedagogical innovation through simulation, integrates three key elements: clinical simulation, OSCE, and video analysis. Thanks to this training, our educators have adopted new methodologies to enhance student learning and optimize evaluation processes.

Simulation-based courses, now embedded in our curriculum, provide students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and learning methodologies in a practical setting. M Stéphane EVELINGER, Head of the First Cycle at CEERRF, highlights that by engaging in simulation sessions within specially designed environments, students experience immersive and hands-on learning. Structured debriefing sessions following each simulation allow for in-depth reflection on both individual and collective performance, fostering continuous improvement and increased motivation.

Following the simulation phase, students undertake OSCE assessments! These examinations, covering areas such as central and peripheral neurology as well as respiratory physiotherapy for our third- and fourth-year students, provide precise and structured competency evaluation. Conducted in realistic conditions, these assessments utilize meticulously designed clinical scenarios within our modern, fully-equipped facilities.
