International week : Indonesia is Here!
For this edition of International Week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Professors Parta Kinandana and Surya Adhitya from Udayana University, Denpasar, Bali.
This enriching collaboration marked the beginning of a promising partnership between CEERRF and Udayana University, solidified by a collaboration agreement. This agreement includes the implementation of research projects, mobility, and exchanges for teaching staff and, of course, for students.
During this International Week, Professor Parta led theoretical and practical courses for 2nd and 3rd-year students on various relevant topics:
Professor Parta has been working in the Department of Physiotherapy at Udayana University since 2016 and has been teaching in the International Sports & Physiotherapy Program since 2022. He is also the head of Udayana’s International Study Program (UISP). Among his research contributions, he has led studies published in the Sport and Fitness Journal, particularly on the effectiveness of bilateral upper limb neurodynamics to reduce pain and tension in the median nerve in individuals with cervical radiculopathy, as well as the additional effects of scapulothoracic joint mobilization.
His colleague, Professor Surya, also shared his expertise with our students through theoretical and practical courses on topics such as:
In addition to his teaching role at Udayana University, Professor Surya is a physiotherapist for Bali United Football Club. He is also very active in research, with notable publications on the prevention and treatment of lower limb injuries in sports, predictors of knee function improvement after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, and preventive strategies against poor knee function and osteoarthritis after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.
This International Week provided our students with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in Indonesian physiotherapy culture. They were able to compare educational and clinical approaches between France and Indonesia, while discovering the similarities and differences that enrich their overall understanding of the profession. This experience also highlighted the importance of intercultural exchanges, which not only foster the acquisition of scientific and clinical skills but also promote open-mindedness and empathy, essential in the therapeutic relationship.
The workshops thus forged connections between students and teachers from different backgrounds, united by a common passion for physiotherapy. This exchange of knowledge and practices not only strengthened our students’ technical skills but also contributed to their personal development as future healthcare professionals.
In conclusion, we would like to express our gratitude to Professors Parta and Surya for their outstanding contributions and hope that this fruitful collaboration will continue in the years to come. We also take this opportunity to thank Prof. Dr. dr. Komang Januartha Pinatih, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Udayana University, for the trust placed in us. Let’s not forget our students, particularly the Erasmus Ambassadors : Léna, Camille and Shazia, for their help and participation!
