« escape day » with Premiers de Cordée association

For the sanitary service, we had the opportunity to attend the “Escape day” organized by “1er de cordée” association. The event took place at Stade de France and was made of different sports and entertainment booths aimed at ill or disabled kids. We were split in 2 teams of 10 people each : one in the morning from 8 to 12AM, and one in the afternoon from 2 to 6PM.

The morning team arrived around 7:30 to receive a briefing on how the day will be organized, and to set up de booth. The second team arrived around lunch time to proceed with the hand-over from the morning team. We were delivering

We offered a seated massage activity and various fun activities on foams.

After receiving our instructions from Mr Cherubin, we first started by creating together a playful psychomotor course with the foams available, in order to stimulate children’s balance among other things, and allow them to have fun,.

At the beginning, our little course was really appreciated, but as the day went on, the children preferred to create structures (giant tower, cabins, etc.) and play with the mosses. Between two massages, it allowed us to share fun moments with them.

We had organized the massage booth so that we had space between us and we could stay in the shade, in view of the summer heat. We took turns giving massages, lasting about ten minutes, so that everyone could participate.

We found this day to be very rewarding. On the one hand, it allowed us to get to know each other better, to exchange and apply different massage techniques learned at school and to stimulate our creativity to create activities and a progression path according to the level of participants.

We were also able to meet and discuss with the children and the various stakeholders, particularly on our studies but also on their daily lives.

When you see the joy on the faces of the participants, you could only smile back (even under our masks!).

In addition, the atmosphere at the event was really nice.

If we had to do it again, we’d do it again with great pleasure !
